Below is a letter to our guests about the foundation and their participation in our event.
Dear Honored Guests,
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to the United Breast Cancer Foundation (UBCF) and let you know how we are changing the lives of women and men in the Los Angeles area. It is with great pleasure that I extend to you my personal invitation to join us at the home of one the best known "breasts enthusiasts" in the world, Hugh Hefner’s Playboy Mansion. With your generous support, we can continue to improve the lives of so many affected by breast cancer.
UBCF’s mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of those affected by breast cancer. UBCF provides grants to hospitals and community health centers to benefit patients and families coping with breast cancer. We aid in providing screening, treatment, after-care, educational material, patient/family assistance and information. We strive to alleviate the stress and strain that cancer can cause to patients & families and to foster health and well-being through both traditional and holistic treatments.
UBCF Working in the LA Area:
The United Breast Cancer Foundation has recently named the Los Angeles Free Clinic (soon to be renamed the Saban Free Clinic) a 2008 UBCF Grant recipient. The LA Free Clinic is located at 8405Beverly Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90048. UBCF funds will assist the LA Free Clinic in ensuring that every client receives appropriate services for the early detection of breast cancer, regardless of the client’s ability to pay for such services. The grant provided by UBCF will assist in covering medical exams and clinical screenings, breast ultrasounds, diagnostic mammography’s, screening mammographies, fine needle aspirations, needle guided ultrasounds, as well as core biopsies. The grant will also assist in funding the development of an out reach plan and educational materials.
The LA Free clinic, founded in 1967, is the oldest continuously operating free clinic in the United States. The clinic’s Women’s Health Services program includes primary care visits, chronic disease management, and specialized medical care for adolescents, screenings for breast cancer, cervical cancer and osteoporosis. UBCF is pleased to support the LA Free clinic as many of our personal friends and colleagues have benefited from the outstanding care provided so compassionately by the men and woman who serve LAFC.
The United Breast Cancer Foundation has recently awarded the Venice Family Clinic as a 2008 UBCF Grant recipient. The Venice Family Clinic is located at 604 Rose Avenue, Venice, CA 90291. UBCF funds will support the mobile mammography screening program at the Venice Family Clinic’s Simms/Mann Health and Wellness Center. The clinic offers high-quality breast cancer services to men and woman without access to such care. UBCF funds will ensure that the Venice Family Clinic can continue to offer patients breast cancer screening, diagnostic and treatment services.
The Venice Family Clinic provides comprehensive primary health care services to nearly 22,000 low-income, uninsured and homeless men, woman and children primarily residing on the west side of Los Angeles County who would otherwise lack access to such care in about 117,000 visits per year.
With your participation at the Playboy Mansion Hot August Nights Event, the United Breast Cancer Foundation can ensure the continued support of our grants in the L.A. area. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for you to be a guest at this exclusive event, and provide a life saving gift to a women in need of breast health care in L.A.
